Silk Print or Off-set Printing

内容目录

One of my clients came to me with a swing tag for his brand. He sent me the artwork and we exchanged a few words, settled the price. Before closing the deal, I advised that we use silk printing for the wording instead of off-set printing, which will not add to much on the cost but the finished result will be more satisfactory. However, he was firm on off-set printing.

Rule of thumbs, as a supplier, it is better to respect your clients’ will. But as a qualified supplier, other than being good service to my client, it is also my duty to produce the best item. Failed to convinced him, I offered to sample both two options and he finally agreed.

It turned out that I was right. My client happily admitted to got for silk print in bulk production. The reason why I insisted on using silk print is that I understand my client’s demand perfectly according to his design. What he actually needed is superior tag with solid and clear wordings. In that case, silk printing will be the best choice for two reasons.

  1. Silk print produces thicker ink than of by off-set printing.
  2. Wordings and color are solider and clearer.

I am not saying that silk print is the best of two and always is our go-to choices for any cases. It is the adequate one which is the best.

And our job, as a qualified supplier, is to help our clients find the best solution.
